The story which is set the slums of Karachi and Lahore early 1950s, revolves around a poor but respectable family who is facing a lot of hardships for their survival. Corruption and degradation take over their lives. Jobless and without any real hope of a better life, they find themselves the clutches of unprcipled entrepreneurs who exploit each of them totally. The tragic, but deeply moving fale is evitable.
 
The drama is based on a novel written by Shaukat Siddiqui - Khuda Ki Basti - which has been translated to 26 languages. Shaukat Siddiqui describes the events and characters with mute details. An excellent work has been done on the writer's part along with the best performances by the actors with superb directions given to them.
